It is interesting to see this article because when I saw this Google Doodle, I got interested and actually clicked in order to explore about her a little bit. Reading the wikipedia as well as this article, not only her education surprised me, but also her designs were very interesting and amazing, but I was sad that I have not watched any of films listed in the article. Therefore, it was hard for me to imagine how elaborate and well-worked the costumes were in the films. The first thing that grabbed my attention when I clicked the Google Doodle was the way she looked. When I saw her appearance, my mind immediately went to Edna Mode in the movie, Incredible, so I researched if the character was actually based on her and I found that some people believe in that too. Whenever I see Google Doodle that not only grabs someone's attention with cool animation or display, but also introduce some of important figures, events, or holidays, I am so glad that Google chose to do this kind of creative thing. Google Doodle became the first thing I check when going into Google and I learn from it. I hope that Google continues to do this that arouses people's interest.

This is fantastic. I'm usually very interested in the Google Doodles, and I'm really thrilled that they chose to honor Edith Head. That's incredible. In reading this brief article about her background, I am most amused by the anecdote regarding how she got her foot in door at Paramount by borrowing a student's sketches and passing them off as her own. I admire the resourcefullness, but this would NEVER fly today.

Like Elaine, I only knew Edith Head as the woman who inspired Edna mode in The Incredibles. Her sassiness and "craziness" is truly an inspiration. I was very surprised that she "borrowed" another student's sketches for her interview. I am wondering if she received that person's consent. Even if she did, I would still define that as plagiarism. I am also surprised that she had the balls to admit this in public. What I like about her designs is the fact that I can see her personality in them. They make women look sophisticated and empowered. Fashion-wise, her customer would probably be the woman who respects herself and has standards. Not only did she win 8 Academy Awards as a female designer, but I think her costumes inspired women to respect themselves and to equalize themselves in a male-driven society. Thank you Edith.

Google doodles are so awesome. Aside from being really fun and interesting, they're a great way to spread a little bit of history. Edith's Head's background story was really interesting from what they included in this article, I'd really like to learn more now. The story of how she got her start is so crazy! She may have never made it into Paramount if she hadn't claimed her student's sketches as her own. Which is sort of a moral dilema, but she became one of the most successful costume designers as a result, it just took a little fudging to make it through that first step.
