Multifunction Grips on AutoCAD Dimensions

Lynn Allen's Blog: Are you taking advantage of all those handy tools built right into the grips on dimensions? Multifunction grips keep you out of the ribbon and menu system - and help you work more efficiently by putting popular command right on the objects themselves! They are a big time savings - but only if you know about them (and use them!).

A very interesting idea. The entire problem with CAD is that the computer does not understand what you want it to do. This gives makes drafting easier by giving you that extra level of control while moving and adjusting lines. But what this also does is slow down the process of computer drafting. Some softwares do similar drop down menus like this but default to the most common action so that you can speed up your drafting if you are only doing one type of action. What I want to see in drafting is a combination of click and point with video game dynamics. Such as, holding down certain keys can change the effect clicking has. This way, you could have extremely detailed control over your work and be able to do it quickly. The downside to video game controls is you need to memorize all the combos.
