Oz the Great and Subsidized

Hit & Run : Reason.com: Oz the Great and Powerful is not the most expensive movie ever made, but with a reported production and marketing cost of $325 million, it is an unusually expensive film, even compared with other similarly effects-driven spectacles.

I have to say... this film was not worth wasting that much money. I feel as though the classic is almost untouchable when it comes to films, and that this movie does not give Baum's story justice. It's definitely a sad day when you spend $325,000,000 on this film, and it turns out to be poorly received. I think it was a film that money was thrown at. I strongly believe that the film could have worked, but there was just not the right amount of production work involved.
