Prop 8 on Trial: Prop 8 on Trial ends with gay marriage

OrlandoSentinel.com: Somewhere in the middle of "Prop 8 On Trial" last weekend, I could sense a fragment of song hovering in the hazy reaches of my mind. What was I reminded of? What melody was trying to work its way into my consciousness? In "Prop 8 on Trial," given a staged reading by Beth Marshall Presents, playwright Lisa Cordes reinterpreted California's Proposition 8 legal case about gay marriage by mixing blogs and trial transcripts with audio and visual elements.

Before they understood that there could be a realy career in theater, my parents wanted me to go into an industry which was important or more useful. This article show the true power of what our industry does. The really power of this industry presents itself not with money or political pull, but with the power of emotional. Whatever your beliefs, whatever message you are trying to convey, this industry allows you to present it in a way that is more powerful and important then any other. And it is also an amazing feat that within this industry we have such open minded and loving coworkers and cast members that will go to far ends to support your beliefs.

This is such a good idea. I like how they mixed different forms of media-- blog posts, other opinions, and the actual trial transcripts.
I wonder what it was like for the actors playing anti-gay demonstrators. Not even on the stage, which has an invisible "pretend" sign on it, but outside the theatre, where they are visible to the general public, likely including some passers-by who aren't aware it's a scripted demonstration.
