Can't wait to meet him and learn his insight. He is quite accomplished and knows what he is doing. What I am most excited for is his advice that will suprise everyone. For example when I met Michael Giacchino, award winning composer, he said to not take every job handed to you, even if you are a starving artist.
To see someone this accomplished also gives me hope. If he can do it, why can't I? IT is nice to know too that he gives back to his universty. Hopefully one day I can give back to CMU and get a studio or theater named after me.
I send my condolences to the entire Wells family for their recent loss. The death of a loved one is never easy. I hope he will be able to come visit the school of drama some other time.
This was the comment I wrote out and was about to post before I found out John Wells is not planning on visiting:
So, there are few TV shows I love more than life itself, and one of which is the West Wing. Studio 33ers can vouch that it's always on while I draft. So I pretty much had the biggest freak out in history when I heard he was coming to visit, not to mention we would get the opportunity to hear him speak! Although the writing goes to Aaron Sorkin, Wells wrote a few of my favorite episodes, and I have yet to hear a producer’s perspective on a TV show. I’ve always heard an actor’s perspective, and even a director's, but I have never really cared to hear a producer’s vision of a project, so I am extremely eager to listen to him speak.
I'm so sorry to hear about his loss, but I am very sad and might just cry :(
