Cleveland Play House Will Get New PlayhouseSquare Home in 2011
Playbill News: "The PlayhouseSquare's 2,500-seat Allen Theatre will be reconfigured into two smaller theatres that will seat, respectively, 550 and 300 audience members. An additional 175-seat black box theatre will be constructed adjacent to the Allen for intimate productions on the Cleveland Play House bill."

I think the decision to make more spaces, and smaller at that, is a good one. I do wonder if though if the current economic situation will make the theatre cut back on essential technologies that could otherwise serve the spaces for many many years. I think they should build it with the thought of an upgrade during stability in mind. That way the space will evolve with the times better.
