Fairy-tale world lives in PBT's 'Cinderella'
Post Gazette: "The classic fairy tale of 'Cinderella' sounds frivolous, but its themes of true beauty vs. ugly behavior, sibling rivalry and love's transformative magic are timeless, especially for tweens and teens."

I always love seeing these stories revisited. As mentioned at the beginning of this article the fact that the themes and stories told in these fairy tales continue to be relevant and appeal to young kids as well as the imaginations of older ones may be the reason that these tales stay alive. However, reading about the beautifully intricate sets costumes and lighting it is obvious that the technical aspects lend a hand in bringing this story alive and keeping it interesting despite its familiar story line.
How ironic that I am designing a much lower-end version of Cinderella for a community theatre back home. This article provides some hope amongst the budget cuts and aggravating experience this far.
I, like Isabella, enjoy seeing these types of shows revived and given new life and appeal. Even just from the almost completely white production design, it's good to see designers trying out new things. This is the biggest frustration in my production now, is a creative team full of people wanting to exactly what we've all seen before. I'm hoping to see this if I can find the time; I'd be very interested in seeing such a relevant story now, one that I knew so well during my childhood.
