Bloomberg.com: "Broadway theaters will dim their lights tonight in memory of lighting designer Tharon Musser, who died in New York on Sunday at 84 after a long illness."
This is such a sad bit of news. Tharon Musser was such an influential designer for all lighting designers, but for all of the disciplines as well. Although her designs are not as current, I'm very much inspired by her ideas and visions for lighting as a design discipline and treating it as such a unique art form. It's rare to find a lighting designer so invested in the art rather than the technology. It is unfortunate that we aren't going to see anything more from her, although she had been so sick recently.
