The Playwright Anna Deavere Smith Finds a New Stage Home in New York
NYTimes.com: "Anna Deavere Smith, who transformed the art of solo performance in the 1990s by embodying dozens of characters in her plays “Fires in the Mirror” and “Twilight: Los Angeles 1992,” is returning to the New York stage this fall for the first time in nine years with a new production about medicine and health care, “Let Me Down Easy.”"

I love pieces that are actors portraying real people that they personally interviewed. It just comes across as such much more personal when the actor has observed the person themselves, than interpreting a character created by the playwright. The subject matter in this piece is also very interestingly intricate and I hope the show succeeds.
