Broadway's Billion-Dollar Shutdown Puts Spotlight on Stagehands
Bloomberg.com: Muse: "The witches of ``Wicked'' don't fly, the opera phantom's chandelier doesn't fall and Jean Valjean never makes it out of the sewers of Paris -- all because Broadway's stagehands are on strike for the first time."

It's sad that there is so much of a problem with just getting people to agree because it's causing so much of a problem not only to them but to those surrounding them. The fact that they are cutting restaurants profits in half could spell serious damage for some, not to mention the loss of jobs for others. It's certainly understandable that they have to do what they have to do but someone certainly needs to step in and speed things along.
the producers knew this was going to happen when the strike began. its just more pressure on them now. the strikers might be the visible face of the strike but i think that really all of the cabbies, restaurant owners etc would side with the stagehands and be really mad at the producers right now. the stagehands eat at those restaurants too. i doubt the producers spend too much time at sbarros.
