Post Gazette: "After 19 days of a strike that darkened Broadway, the constellation of businesses that feed off the theater district are planning for an uplifting revival as shows reopen."
its been interesting to hear all of the complaints that have been strung along as a result of the strikes... isn't it always the case that you overlook what you have until its gone. the entire theatre district saw the strain from the strike, amazing to see how everyone was truly influenced. it only pushed the negotiations to be made sooner... at least the wait is over.
I hope more people are influenced to visit New York and spend and help out the economy return to its normal state like the mayor was pushing people to do after 9/11. Theatre is all about sticking together and helping each other out.
Thank god, is all I have to say. Having Broadway go dark is a scary thing. I'm glad it settled, and hopefully it settled to the advantage of everyone at least a little. I can't imagine being one of the negotiators. I really hate confrontation, so to have to been in meetings for 12 hours or so would be exhausting and sad.
