The locks for the pugs might be a hassle to have around. Think...you need a tool but the person who has the keys it out to lunch. What do you do? This could be a big problem, but it will keep unwanted people wout of the tools. The 3M better than velcro stuff is really nice and I have used it before. It is really nice to have for things you want to hang up, but velcro wont cut it.
The plug lock is an interesting idea, and more safety is always good. Unfortunately it isn't much more difficult to remove these than it is to plug the item in. One of my childhood neighborhood friend's parents liked to put these on the tv and sega genesis. Sometimes, enough force pulls them right off. Othertimes, the lock is a single sided 3 wafer lock, so paper clip friendly. Lastly, if you were to anticipate this and grind flat the ridges on the prongs, you would be able to slide it off again.
The better than velcro stuff is nice, and usually the failure point ends up being the adhesive holding it, not the fastener itself.
