Warner’s Robinov Bitchslaps Film Women; Gloria Allred Calls For Warner’s Boycott
Deadline Hollywood Daily: "This comes to me from three different producers, so I know it's real: Warner Bros president of production Jeff Robinov has made a new decree that 'We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead'."

This is laughable. Just last night, the frost d/p class was required to read Lysistrata for foundations of drama. I feel the same after reading Lysistrata as I do after reading this article. I'm humiliated. The first thing I said after reading Lysistrata was "At least women aren't depicted poorly by men in this day and age". Clearly I am mistaken. Clearly, all successful buisnessmen must blame everyone except themselves when their work is in the dumps. Clearly the people who matter don't respect women and feel this superiority of no other kind. It's just sick.
Seriously?....seriously????..... How in the world would he think that cutting out women from lead roles will improve their sales or that the actresses and not the directors or producers of the head of Warner didn't have anything to do with it. I take some solice in the fact that no one seems to be agreeing with him.....but this is just sad!
It's disgusting that this guy has some actual power to decide what goes into movies and what doesn't. If movies with male leads had been doing badly at the box office, no one would suggest cutting male leads entirely (as Gloria Allred said). The fact that this can still happen is really scary.
It's really funny to me that of all the things he Robinov could have chosen to blame he blamed women. Today we live in a world thankfully where the main charcter of a movie can be any sex or race however people who are sexist have to blame failures on movies with lead female roles especially Jodie Foster who has 2 Oscar's for lead female role. Also if Warner Brothers wants to make some money they should probably not hire such famous actor's for female roles. They paid Jodie Foster 15,000,000 for "The Brave One"
I have a feeling that in just a matter in time that Robinov will be taking his statement back. Not only because he'll realize that it was not women in lead roles that made most of thier movies fail, but also the fact that it is such an outrage to make such a statement. In today's world you think that we would be past such thought. Perhaps it's not the lead females destroying their films but perhaps the films themselves that they decide to produce. Just a thought.
