I swear the last article I read an article on the producer local 1 talks they had reached an understanding and the local 1 just had to vote on it. Maybe I missed the part where the union rejected the deal that had been negotiated I the talks. The last article discussing the talks said that local 1 gave in realizing that the producers were willing to lose money during a few days of a strike in order to save the much larger amount they spend during installs and on union minimums. The producer’s concession was higher rates for less workers to “even it out” which seemed like a fair enough trade off. I have never quite understood why the producers put up with ridiculous minimums and “walkers”. It is just wasteful of the industry.
