B'way Lockout Possible, Stagehand Talks End
Backstage: "Broadway stands on the brink of a lockout after negotiators for producers and for stagehands failed to reach an agreement on a new contract late Tuesday night. Each side issued what it called its final offer, which is the last step in labor negotiations before an impasse is declared. If the sides cannot come to an agreement, producers have said they will prevent stagehands from going to work, which would close every Broadway theatre except the Hilton, the New Amsterdam, and those run by nonprofit companies."
