BIF-3: Dan Heath - Think Inside the Box
Read Write Web: "Take a sheet of paper and write down everything you can think of that's white. You have 15 seconds, go. Done? Good, now take 15 seconds and write down everything that is or could be in your refrigerator that's white. Finished? Raise your hand if had better luck with the second list."

Well, duh. Thinking outside of the box is hard. Mainly because we live inside the box and have been taught since we began learning that inside the box is the place to be. However, I do like this concept of defining the 'right' boxes for a concept. I just don't think it is an accurate use of the phrase 'thinking inside the box'. Heath's idea is to better qualify an idea by juxtaposing it with existing ideas. And yes, great things like Netflix have been created while staying inside the box. But to come up with something wholly new and original, that is something even greater than Netflix.
