Stage Preview: Pop culture finds religion in 'Altar Boyz'
Post Gazette: "By the time playwright Kevin Del Aguila was invited to take a crack at 'Altar Boyz,' the concept was several years old and had stumbled through several previous drafts. Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport's original idea showed promise, but there were, well, issues."

Looking forward to seeing this in Pittsburgh next month! ~annemarie
The concept is definately interesting, but I just don't know if I would put up the money to see anything that parodies boy bands, seeing as that means they have to act like one. Not to mention that touring shows aren't exactly the best way to see a show, in my opinion.
altar boyz is definately worth seeing, one of my favorites!

I like the end where they talk about how difficult it is for someone to be singing 8 times a week - a lot more challenging than the standard lip-syncing the American public has come to terms with during concerts. If they were lip-syncing there is no way I'd pay money to see the show. It seems popular though, so maybe there is some kind of substance in the show.
Altar Boyz is one of my favorite musicals everybody should check it out! - micmacd711
