Stage Fright
Inside Higher Ed: "It was six hours before opening night. Sarah Holdren, director of a Yale University student production, had just entered the theater for a routine pre-performance errand when the man who runs the hall gave her an update: In the wake of the Virginia Tech shootings, a Yale administrator decided that she didn’t want any weapons used or portrayed during theatrical productions."

This is utterly rediculous... I give major props to the director who stood up in front of the audience and gave that speech. I feel as if the dean who banned the use of stage weapon props is being stupid... Does she really think college students are THAT impressionable... I mean really!
I can't believe how far the dean took this. If this dean is going so far as to believe that the will be tramatized by something that they would go to by choice just doesn't make any logical sense. I really feel that too many people are just using this terrible tragedy as an advantage to push different ideas on others, which is just sad. I'm looking at you Jack Thompson.
This is pretty stupid to be perfectly honest. This is the same principle as when the ushers at an event start screaming at people because they suddenly believe themselves to have so much power. This is just someone looking for a way out.
