Writing out better than acting out

The Denver Post: "They weren't there. As far as I know, none of my angst-ridden teen writers ever gravitated into a cold-blooded killer."

This does make me understand the situation at VT a little better. I was originally very frustrated that the school had not done more to prevent the shootings. But after you read about how the teachers did do everything in their power to address Cho's situation, it really comes down to Cho. He had some major problems and somehow he didn't want help. I really do feel though that being comfortable enough to express how you truly feel is very important. I have a feeling that if there were limitations on that, there would be much more violence in the world.

Wow, this article was very interesting. I think that Cho obviously had some deep issues, and although writing can be a helpful tool in expressing one's self, if it is the only way you can, you probably have a problem. I think it is important to be able to express yourself across all areas in life, in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I feel bad that Cho obviously was lacking this opportunity. I know that people feel that alone, but I really wish that didn't have to happen. I agree with Candace, there would be way more violence if everyone was this limited in expressing themselves.
