The Public Theatre is a respected Equity Theatre located in Lewiston, Maine, producing 5-6 shows per season. The Technical Director must be an excellent and conscientious craftsperson with strong leadership abilities, who enjoys working collaboratively with a small, motivated staff, to produce high quality theatre.
Duties include responsibility for all technical aspects of theatre, cost estimates, drafting, construction of sets, supervision of assistant, organization of shop and maintenance of theatre space and equipment.
Design opportunities possible.
Person applying must have broad technical skills, especially in scenic carpentry; leadership ability; organizational skills; knowledge of electronics a plus.
This is a nine month, salaried position (September – May) including partial health benefits.
