Campus Smoking Ban

Carnegie Mellon Today: "No one would deny that one of the United States’ greatest attributes is freedom for individuals. So, it’s no surprise that whenever limitations are placed on those freedoms, no matter how well meaning, cries of Orwellian oppression are heard."

I'm not a smoker but none the less I find this ban to be rediculous. Honestly if I'm walking behind a smoker I can either slow down/speed up to pass them, or walk on the other side of the walkway instead of directly behind them... I mean honestly, it's not the difficult to do... and it's not like walking past a smoker is going to give me cancer. I feel this second hand smoke thing is more of an issue for people who live with a smoker or are ALWAYS around smoke... People are stupid at times I feel... Oh wait, I walked passed a smoker today... I bet I've got cancer now...
