The Bear, The Proposal & The Wedding

Pittsburgh City Paper: "There's a rumor abroad in TheaterLand that Anton Chekhov wrote comedies. Those of you who've had the misfortune to sit through his excruciating Three Sisters could be excused your chortling. But Pitt Rep offers up, as proof of Chekhov's yuk-master credentials, three one-act comedies, 'The Bear,' 'The Proposal' and 'The Wedding.'"

these are some of the funniest plays ever. i remeber first reading them and hating them, but after seeing them performed the comedey becomes so blatantly obvious. i highly recommend seeing these this week. i would have to disagree though about the team being "too" educated. i think these require a very smart group to successfuly achieve the comedy.
