Playwright/director Young Jean Lee has been hailed by The Village Voice as one of "New York's finest emerging playwrights" and by Time Out New York as one of "New York's Hot 25" as a Provocateur Playwright. Songs presents Lee's refreshing and at times, alarmingly direct and politically incorrect approach to identiy politics and her honest, half-informed and sometimes offensive take on her cultural background as a Korean-American. Lee is particulary adept at keeping an audience off balance with observations equally off handed, comical, insightful and inciting. But most of all, Songs is about white people in love.

"Young Jean Lee's play about minority rage and a secret Korean plot to rule the world is brilliantly directed and hysterically funny."

--Anita Gates, NY Times

Songs of the Dragon Flying to Heaven is co-presented with the New Hazlett Theater.
