Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Given the weather and the time of year, if you're a high school or college student, you're more likely to be thinking spring break than summer work.
As a winter-weary woman, I'm the last person to deny a sun-deprived student his time in the sun.
But while you're surfing the Internet in pursuit of an beach holiday, those of you with an interest in theater may want to stop by some other Web pages and give some thought to your summer plans."

This was a very interesting article. I already have two jobs scheduled for this summer, but I'll keep these places in mind next time around. It is so hard to get yourself out of the winter mode and think about summer work during this time of year, but it certainly is important. I'll bookmark this article for next summer's employment.
i never know when it is too early or too late to apply...i feel like i get caught up in the whirlwind that is the school year and when im ready to apply its too early...and then i get swamped as do most of us and it ends up being just befor ethe deadline with still no options....next year though...theres always hope.
Now is the time. The top flight programs fill by March. Some, like Santa Fe start in November.
I know I've been thinking about internships quite a bit for the past month or so. I'm in the midst of applying right now. Most of my deadlines are right around the corner. I worked on my resume and made it somewhat interesting and I'm just doing some finishing touches to cover letters and then I will send out my information to 6 or 7 places. Hopefully one will turn out well, and hopefully the on I want the most. So while the article assumes we're not thinking about internships, I certainly am - and I know I'm even slightly behind. But hopefully it all works out and I get a really great experience this summer.
I know that many of us have been thinking about internships for a while, but this article did help in making sure we are still aware of what all we need to accomplish. Its easy to make a plan for this kind of work, but with school work and such, it is also easy to let it fall on the back burner.
