*Alcina* takes a few modern twists
The Tartan Online: "Over the weekend, the opera Alcina had almost everything a spectator could want: flashy costumes and scenery, a magical realm, sorcery, swashbuckling, and even cross-dressing. Based on an epic poem and produced by the School of Music, the opera was written by George Frideric Handel, but the libretto, or text of the plot, has no known author."

I was dissapointed in the critics review of the costumes. They just didn't seem to get how the concept that ran through the scenery followed through the costume design concept as well. Hmmm...It was however a nicely written school review.
I enjoyed the show a lot, but I found some of what this article had to say surprising. It may just have been that I didn't fully understand the show. However, I did not mind these so called issues with the scenery and costumes. I thought the show overall was very well thought out and put together quite nicely. They definately made sure the audience had something to look at regardless to if they could understand the rest of the show or not.
