Telemarketers often get more money than charities

Democrat & Chronicle: "But as much as 90 cents of every dollar donated never reaches the nonprofit and is kept by the telemarketing companies. In 2005, the latest year available, an average of 60 cents of every dollar collected went to the telemarketers, according to a Democrat and Chronicle analysis of state records."

I think that this article speaks wonderfully to the reason that America needs to step back and look at its conscience. This is completly outrageous. To think that people are donating with the intent that they are helping people and only 11 to 20 cents are actually going to those in need.
