Riedel intercom systems deliver reliable communications at the Burgtheater in Vienna

LightSoundJournal.com: Riedel Communications announced that the Burgtheater, the Austrian Federal Theater in Vienna, has opted for a comprehensive communications solution with Riedel’s Artist and Bolero intercom systems. As an extension of an existing Artist-64-based intercom and radio network, an Artist-1024 node and a Bolero wireless system with 85 beltpacks and 36 antennas have been gradually integrated into the historic venue since the summer of 2021.

I wasn't sure I had much to think about when I saw this article’s title but I found it surprisingly interesting. It seems like a daunting task to replace so many belt packs, antennas, and revamp a whole system like that. I can't even imagine the added challenges of doing all of this work inside a historic venue like this that wasn't constructed with sound equipment in mind. I would absolutely love to visit this theater and the pictures included in the article are gorgeous. It seems like the partnership between technicians and the system consultants was what made this installation so successful with the construction challenges. Reading about the size of the new system and just how many components go into making a working system for all the departments that need it shed a new light on this kind of upgrade and gave me a new respect for all the folks that work to implement these systems.
