I think watching Billy’s career is pretty exciting, especially when you hear the backstory about him beating the odds as a black queer artist. I sometimes don't appreciate when universities pull out their big name stars for every little thing but it feels to me like Billy Porter really deserves all the accolades and praise he gets. It was interesting reading about his awards and seeing what other people know him for, some of which matched my perception and some of which was a surprise. I loved the quote about his lasting impact because I think that's so important to who he is as an artist, someone willing to push the envelope. I also really liked the summary of where his career started and I found myself surprised by some of his early success, some of it I had never heard before. What he hsa done for the queer community is really something, and the way he nurtures young artists is at the top of his list of skills in my book.
