Even the term ‘De-mix’ is a fascinating one, that mentally evokes a challenge similar to ‘un-baking’ a cake.

Reading about de-mix technology is something super interesting to me. For some reason, I like music as stripped down as possible. I love when artists make music without crazy beats, or better yet, take the music they’ve already made and make them acoustic, without drums or just with a guitar or something in the background. I would absolutely love to have the necessary technology to strip these songs myself without the artist having to make an actual de-mixed version. I also think it’s really cool that people are able to use this technology to restore old music pieces. I remember listening to a podcast or something of someone using the technology to take the layers off of a video of their grandmother singing for the last time, and it went from a muffled mess to such a clear and beautiful song. I think the evolution of this technology could be game changing, and potentially mean a lot to a lot of people.
