A very big list of Halloween 2022 events in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh City Paper: COVID has let that banger of a Halloween costume idea sit around for too long. Break it out for some of these events ranging from spooky film series to fun times for kids, pets, and party animals.

I love anything that has to do with Fall, and Halloween is no exception. I have been looking forward to planning my costumes and getting to experience the holiday in a different state (Florida Halloweens are very sweaty.) It's so cool to see all of these events going on in Pittsburgh! It amazed me just how many spooky events were happening throughout October! I am particularly intrigued by “Spooky Candles, Bingo, and Queen,” one of the many Halloween themed drag shows. “Hocus Pocus in Concert with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra,” sounds like so much fun, because as a huge Disney and Hocus Pocus fan, it sounds like a blast being able to hear the songs live. I also have always wanted to live my masquerade ball dream, and in Pitt it could be a reality through “Cheers For Fears Masquerade Halloween Party.” Reading this has already gotten me in the holiday season!

2. Fall is the best season, and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I’m glad there is a place with all of these celebrations compiled. These all sound like great fun! I am glad to see the Rocky Horror shadow cast back in action. I can’t help but be a little sad however. Back in my hometown before covid, the Rocky Horror shadow cast would perform every weekend in October and even starting sometimes a bit earlier in September and going until Thanksgiving. Nowadays, I think there is less demand for it and it also a lot harder to come by the funding for these things. The old theater that our Rocky Horror shadow cast performed in, the Tivoli, got bought by a church during covid. All that said, I am so glad to see Halloween-y celebrations making a comeback and I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to catch some of them once As You Like It strikes! I really wish I could go to the Little Shop sing a long, but unfortunately I’ll be in the Chosky reminding everyone to wear their hard hats.

With the exception of National theater day in my mind Halloween is one of the holidays that I strongly associate with theater and I am so excited to celebrate this holiday in Pittsburgh. I had no clue that there were so many fall and halloween events, with so many both being kid friendly and aimed at adults. Unfortunately my October is packed so I will not be able to attend many of the events but the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Little Shop of horrors centric events sound like something I would have so much fun with. I love that there is a Halloween thing for everyone. Due to my crazy schedule in high school I have not been able to celebrate Halloween outside of a horse show or rehearsal room since 2018 or 2019 so I look forward to seeing all of the fall and halloween themed things possible during witchy season.
