Timothée Chalamet’s West End debut cancelled after two years of postponements
Old Vic Theatre | The Guardian: It was one of London’s hottest theatre tickets for 2020: a Pulitzer-nominated play with the enticing pairing of actors Timothée Chalamet and Eileen Atkins. But just over two years after Amy Herzog’s drama 4000 Miles had been scheduled to have its first performance at the Old Vic, the long-postponed production has finally been cancelled.

What sad news that this Pulitzer nominated oaky won’t be able to happen, I would have loved to see it. Although Timothee Chalamet has risen to fame in the public eye recently for roles such as Call Me By your Name, Pretty Woman and The French Dispatch, Timothees origins begun onstage performing theatre for people in a live setting. He played the lead role in my highschools production of Guys and Dolls and Hairspray his Junior and Senior Year. As a proud LaGuardia Alumni, it would have been nice to see him return to the stage and see him perform in person. I think that the saddest part about the cancellation of Amy Herzog’s Drama 4000 miles is that it has kept being postponed time and time again over the past two years, which really must be disappointing for the actors working on the production and for the actors themselves. I also think that the chemistry on stage between Timothee Chalamet and Eileen Atkins would have been incredible to watch. Hopefully this gets picked up some other time in the future.
