Never Tried VR? Neither Had Our Editor. What is it Really Like for a First Time User?
AMT Lab @ CMU: Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (or AR and VR) are beginning to make their way into modern education, healthcare, museums, & concerts. VR’s current growth and newfound accessibility have transformed gaming, learning, and the arts into a literal immersive experience by bringing your senses into the virtual setting. Upon first examination of the equipment & features, the idea can seem quite intimidating and expensive to integrate into education or the arts. If properly integrated, however, it greatly enhances an experience and grants a new level of understanding and perception of an arts or education piece to your audience.

I have always felt that things that can be felt add different layers to the setting of the environment. That is probably why the props and set pieces are so integral to a production.
But this article talks about something that does not function on touch but only vision and sensation.
I never knew that VR and AR could become such an integral part of a visual experience. This article is successful about talking about this aspect in a sense where it clearly encapsulates the feeling that audience members go through when they are sitting in an environment that has been given a setting virtually. It does seem like an added expense in the beginning, but as the article rightfully says, with correct usage and technique, VR can be a really good investment that could be incorporated into educational and entertainment purposes, that would only result in better outcomes for everyone.
