Tuned In: CMU drama grad plays NBC’s ‘Game of Silence’
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: NBC’s mystery-thriller “Game of Silence” (previews 10 p.m. April 12; time slot premiere 10 p.m. April 14) follows a group of childhood friends who faced abuse in a juvenile detention facility more than 20 years ago. They renew their grudges and set out for vengeance in the present.

I find Mr. Grosse's approach to education and pursuing career in the performing arts both admirable and intensely relatable. Having switched into Drama from a biological field of study, I struggled for a while with how to make that first year outside the School of Drama "count". It was impossible to come to terms with simply writing off my freshman year, and starting over. So I had to find ways to integrate it into what I was studying within Drama. And I had to be reminded numerous times that my unconventional path did not make me disadvantaged or a "late bloomer"; it provided me with unique perspective and additional time to mature and grow into myself. Applying to college these days can make anyone feel like they have to have the next three to four decades of their life mapped out. I am a huge supporter of a five year college process, and the personalization of one's educational process.
