Stage Directors and Choreographers Society Affirms Commitment to Diversity with Statement, Honors
Stage Directions: The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society announced a “Diversity and Inclusion Statement of Commitment” at their April 11 membership meeting. Diversity and Inclusion Committee co-chair Seret Scott introduced the statement, saying “It represents SDC’s public, lasting commitment to increasing access, diversity, and inclusion in the American theatre.” As part of this effort towards more diversity, they also established a new program of recognition, “Standout Moments,” focused on the important contributions directors and choreographers make every day to create a more inclusive, diverse theatre, and named the first 10 recipients of that honor.
