Fall protection is incredibly serious and important, but this article doesn’t really explain anything that seems new or groundbreaking. Just thinking about it, a fall arrest system wouldn’t help if attached to a single person lift because one could pull the lift down with them. Vehicle mounted systems are less likely to be pulled over by the weight of a person falling out of it. What doesn’t seem to be addressed here or anywhere else that I have seen is using existing architecture or structure as a point to tether a fall arrest system to. In part this may be because there has never been any real testing for it and the things that people would tether to would be so widely varied that it would be nearly impossible to standardize. There is a lot to understand about fall arrest and I think this is great information to hold on to for various situations that I may come across.
