“Apes,” “Game of Thrones” Lead Visual Effects Society Nominations

Variety: “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” nabbed five nominations, the most among feature films, as the Visual Effects Society announced its 2015 VES Award nominees.

“Apes” will compete with “Interstellar” (4 noms), “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” (4 noms), “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2 noms), “Maleficent” (2 noms) and “X-Men: Days of Future Past” for the org’s top honor: 0ustanding visual effects in a visual effects-driven photoreal/live action feature motion picture.
