What to Know about Adding Lighting to Houses of Worship
www.avnetwork.com: The year 2015 is finally upon us and yet many of house of worship facilities seem to forget that “L” part of the holy trifecta. And by trifecta, I’m of course referring to AV L systems.

Honestly, though I personally don’t regularly practice religion, I find issue with the fact that there is advocation for introducing products by Chauvet and American DJ into places of worship. It isn’t only that I object to those brands, they have their own place in the market, but they aren’t exactly brands that I would really consider for holy ground. I understand the fact that they aren’t really expensive brands as far as equipment goes, but why have that equipment in the first place? I may be crazy, but last time I went to church I didn’t think it needed a fully immersive LED atmosphere, and I think just about everywhere could use that. Now it may be different if the church is also a venue, in which case I understand how you could make the argument that an expansive lighting system is necessary, and I do think this is what the article is about, but still it promotes the capitalization of religion. Even if the church was a venue, why wouldn’t you just treat it as such when looking for equipment to add to the AVL system? Personally, I wouldn't view houses of worship as some untapped market. But that’s just me.
