HowlRound: What makes theater Jewish?
This strikes me as just as complex a query as, “What makes a person Jewish?” or, for that matter, “What makes theater?”
To any of these questions, some might say that an answer can be found by looking at history and the ways in which the participants identify and operate are in response to, or derived from, that which came before.

I'm not sure how I am supposed to feel about this article. As a Jew I find this concept very interesting, but I wonder how someone would come up with this question. Is it because of the song in "Monty Python's Spamalot"? Or the one in "the Producers"? My response is that since the begging of time Jews have been story tellers. Many (if not all) traditions and interpretations of the bible have been passed down orally. Making telling stories with theater isn't far off.
