Burning Man Tickets Sell Out In Just 45 Minutes
www.huffingtonpost.com: Despite long wait times and the occasional browser crash, though, this year's ticketing event ran markedly more smoothly than in the past. Last year, those eager to shell out $380 for a chance at enlightenment endured up to a four hour wait. In 2012, ticket demand so far exceeded the available supply that organizers were forced to drastically rethink their price-tiered "lottery system."

I must admit, I've never really seen the interest in these large scale music festivals. Especially when they cost hundreds of dollars for a ticket and even more just for the cost of living while you're there. However, after looking through the flickr photos, I must say this festival might be worth it just to see the artwork there. The pieces all look amazing especially due to their large scale and a weekend surrounded by those would be a story worth telling. Only down side, those dang hippies..
I love the art cars and sculptures that show up at burning man, and it is definitely on my bucket list to attend the festival at least once. I would like to respond Sam's comment, Burning Man is more of an art and spirituality festival than a music festival. I agree that I haven't seen the appeal in large music festivals, however Burning Man holds appeal in the themed camps that spring up and the way people are able to create a city, live in it for a week and tear it down without leaving a trace. All in a span of just over a week. I am fascinated by the way people make the pilgrimage to the Playa each year, and in the infrastructure that the organizers have to keep the festival running and on good terms with governments and residents of Nevada.
I've always been interested in music festivals, despite the sometimes steep prices, the fact that you are seeing many artists at one gathering typically makes it worth it. Burning man has been one that my friends and I have wanted to go to for several years now and I hope will eventually be able to go to. The wonderful thing about it is all of the art and the essentially freedom of creativity that surrounds the festival, its quite impressive. I also like fire.
