Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre ups the ante with Pointe In Time Ball
TribLIVE: I love this party, it makes me feel like a princess,” said Melissa Ferrari as she made her way into the ballroom of the Westin Convention Center hotel on Nov. 9. “People just really turn it up a notch.”
Indeed, the people were most definitely turning it up a notch. But it was the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre that completely upped the ante during its Pointe In Time Ball, a promise that came signed, sealed and delivered for 400 guests.

I don't think I ever really realized just how much time and money goes into event planning. I have to say, when someone says they are throwing a ball or a party, I immediately think throwing together lots of tables and chairs and having a band, but it is so much more than that. For those who are hosting a ball as a fundraiser, setting the mood is especially important as I see now. If guests see that you have put time and effort into your fundraiser, then they will likely be more inclined to contribute to your cause. I think I should give event planning a little more credit, especially after reading how the PBT was able to raise.
