Charles Newell Wins Zelda Fichandler Award
Stage Directions: Charles Newell, artistic director at Chicago’s Court Theatre won the 2013 Zelda Fichandler Award. Given by the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), the award “recognizes an outstanding director or choreographer who is transforming the regional arts landscape through singular creativity and artistry in theatre.” Newell was recognized by the peer-review award committee for “his remarkable leadership, his brilliant direction, and his genuine dedication and desire to make a difference.”
