A Handy (And Inexpensive) Wireless Remote Control Solution
Pro Sound Web: If you’re like me, then a lot of your recording sessions in your studio involve you wearing several different hats.
For me, I’m a musician, so I’m always recording myself.
The problem is studios tend to be noisy. I like to get as far away from the computer and hard drive as I can. That means moving across the room.

I'm a big fan of Apple's wireless keyboard. I don't currently own one, but every time I have had the opportunity to use one, it has proven very useful. The Bluetooth range for the device is significant, so you can be pretty far away and still have it work well. I can imagine how it would be great for hot only sound recording, but in other theatre departments as well. I can see particular uses in electrics, but possible effectiveness in other places as well. Beyond this, I think it is a powerful tool for meetings and presentations. It is thin, quiet, and sleek looking, professional enough to work a slideshow or the like while getting rid of the computer on the table. I would be interested to own one, and it may be a purchase I make in the near future.
I feel like this is a common sense solution to common problem. I was expecting some cool new wireless device to be featured in this article, and instead it was more along the lines of "use that thing you already own to do that function it was created for." Isn't the reason we have wireless mouses and keyboards so that we can operate a computer without needing to be right next to it? Seems to me like this gentleman should have come up with this solution a lot sooner, especially if he already owned the wireless keyboard. I feel like this epiphany was hardly worth writing an article about.
