TAIT Supplies Moving Robots for Deadmaus5's Las Vegas Club Residency

Lighting&Sound America Online - News: Working alongside designer Martin Phillips, TAIT manufactured a range of DJ automation elements for Deadmau5's six month club residency at Hakkasan in the MGM Hotel, Las Vegas. The residency, which features special guests throughout the shows, sees two ABB Robots with Robotic Arts Roboscreens on either side of the DJ booth. The rate at which complex and mechanized equipment becomes available for large shows (especially concerts) increasingly outmatches the pace at which people are taught to use stage equipment. A student using up to date technology will have out dated education before he or she is out of school. It is amazing how any one can survive in the entertainment industry while technology becomes more and more powerful. This article does give some confidence to Carnegie Mellon's programs though. If TAIT is using the newest tech possible and you want to be able to keep up to date with those materials, then Carnegie Mellon is probably where you want to be.
