I'm really not sure how I feel about this case. I totally understand the importance of copyright, but at the same time this is a spinoff of a movie that he produced. If he had contributed original work into the movie I would think that he should get a cut, but I don't exactly understand why he should get so much money. On the other hand, why was he not given the cut in the first place if that was part of his contract? I wish there were a bit more detail on the case and the specifics of why he wanted the money now. What makes this time different from when the show first opened on broadway? Or when it won a Tony award?
