Are college student hook-ups linked to anxiety and depression?

www.sciencedaily.com: As narratives of "hook-up" culture take center stage in popular media, behavioral researchers are starting to ask what psychological consequences, if any, may be in store for young adults who engage in casual sex.

I found the title intriguing and began to ponder the question. After reading the article I feel like it just didn't answer its own question. Yes they did survey mostly males, which regardless what they say about the gender role not being a factor, I feel that it does effect the results. the article spoke about the double standard that exist that allow guys to be open to more casual sex. What I want to know about this study is if they know how long the students have been at the school where they are sleeping with people they have known less than a week. Because if that is how long they have been at the program the study is fraud. I feel like they got my attention to read the article by their title, but as I kept reading they were like, " Just kidding, the information is too premature to tell. Sorry."
