Backstage: "Criminals beware, Batman will be on the beat this summer in Pittsburgh.
Film director Christopher Nolan, who has helmed the two previous Batman films — starring Christian Bale as caped crime fighter and his alter ego, Bruce Wayne — said Tuesday the Pennsylvania city will host filming for a third film for at least a month.

Yes this is ridiculously awesome. It is strange that they are not filming Batman in Chicago, because as real city’s go that is the closest to Gotham. It is good to see that Pittsburgh is attracting films though. I feel like after the city has been cleaned up and steel was not or major export we have some what lost identity, but maybe films can be something new to give the city a feel. Pittsburgh has been rated one of the most livable cities in the country and it is interesting because there are so many cultural enclaves. Also Batman is awesome and Pittsburgh is awesome so it makes sense that they teamed up.
It is great to hear that the Third 'Dark Knight' is coming to Pittsburgh this summer. This is going to be a ton of work for the area and will allow a lot of people to get a lot of money. I hope that some CMU people get on board and get to work with them and bring back some really good stories and may be some new ways of doing things. On the bad side to pass them a tax brake for the movies made here they are pulling a lot of funding for universities throughout the state and I know of a lot of students that are afraid that they will not be able to pay for school next year. I just hope that does not effect the students funding that much.
