Carnegie Mellon University: "For many, the robin is the first sign of spring. For actors in Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama — it's Showcase. 'Showcase is an incredible opportunity for new graduates to be seen by the most notable managers, casting directors and talent agents in the business,' said CMU's Ingrid Sonnichsen. Sonnichsen is an associate teaching professor of acting and coordinator of this year's event.

What upsets me about this article is that once again it only focuses on the actors. I can understand for more external publications they only care of the acting because they are only alumni really care about are the actors, with directors and producers coming in second depending on how big they are. I was hoping in an internal publication like this that they would also try to mention more of what it is like for the designers and PTM students of the building and how it's not about getting jobs but meeting people and broadening your network of people in the business for a better chance to find work after graduation.
What about all of the nonperforming majors in the school? I hate this when they only talk about the actor and Musical theater majors. I just hope that there is an article somewhere out there that is talking about all of non performing majors and all the work that they have done in the past years and how successful that has been for them. I know that all the fame of the school mostly comes from the actors but a lot of the cutting edge things that we see are in some part related to other parts of the school and those people should also be rewarded for what they have done. I hope to see an article on the green page about the PTM and designer and showcase in the coming weeks.
Although not shocking that actors were the main focus, I am shocked and incredibly disappointed that other majors within drama that are a part of showcase were not even mentioned. So many other majors have put in so much work and deserve to be mentioned in the article, perhaps not focused on because not many people understand what it is these other majors do, but mentioned none the less.
