Planning Tool Ganttic Gets Streamlined, Now Easier to Use
gigaom: "When I last looked at Flash-based drag-and-drop online planning tool Ganttic late last year, I was pleased with its functionality, but less impressed with the app’s complex user interface, which made it tricky to get familiar with. Since then, however, Ganttic has been redesigned with a greatly streamlined interface. If you previously tried Ganttic but were put off by its complexity, it’s worth trying again.

It's nice to see Gantt Charts getting some love finally. When you look at what was out there for the longest time to generate them, you were stuck with MS Project, Open Proj, or some not so good PM web service that kinda did them. These products also try to anticipate for you which can make them frustrating to work with to develope your chart.
This one is pretty nice, however I think i still like tomsplanner.com the best. Very simple and easy to use. Plus, just like if you did it in excel, you can interact with the chart rather then having to go back to the fields and re-input data.
Tom's Planner is pretty nice, but last I checked, if you wanted to actually output your chart you had to subscribe. Ganttic looks pretty good, and seems to have a bit more functionality than the simple Tom's Planner. The other bonus is that it only costs $0.98/month for a pro subscription! Anyone can afford that, so it's great that you can get a full-featured, web-based program so cheap.
