Paper Mill Playhouse, the state theatre of New Jersey and one of the country’s best-known not-for-profit theatres, seeks a Master Electrician for their 5-show mainstage season.

Leading a team of IATSE stagehands, the ME will work closely with Lighting Designers to implement Broadway caliber designs in a 1,200 seat house to ensure the highest possible lighting quality for every production. Duties include, but are not limited to, hanging and focusing the lighting plot, creating all necessary paper work, maintaining all instruments and stock, managing a crew of seasoned professionals, programming the board during technical rehearsals, as well as running the board for 8 performances a week during each run.

In addition to duties related to the mainstage shows, the ME will be responsible for numerous ancillary events over the course of each season (Theatre for a Young Audience performances, concerts, corporate events, etc).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience on Broadway, with major tours and/or as a House Electrician in a road house or large regional theatre. The candidate must be able to work quickly under pressure and have a positive attitude when interacting with a variety of personality types. Experience programming both conventional and moving lights on an EOS board is a plus.
