Cirque du Soleil bringing 'Michael Jackson' event to Petersen

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Cirque du Soleil will bring 'Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour' to the Petersen Events Center in Oakland for a single performance at 8 p.m. April 13.
Employing Cirque du Soleil's creativity with visual elements, dance, music and fantasy, the production aims to capture Jackson's soul and celebrate his legacy with a show that immerses audiences in the singer's creative world and literally turns his signature moves upside down.

This Michael Jackson show I feel is going to be the biggest mistake that they have ever done. Ever since Cirque has started to do this new type of work with using other peoples music or root ideas, the quality is not as high and interesting. The only exception is the Love show that they did with Beatles music. I wonder if they figured that since that was such a big hit that they should try to do more of that type of work. I guess if this is what the public wants then that is what they are going to get and that is what will keep them afloat fiscally. I just hope that Cirque continues to do their new and innovated shows.
